College Park, Ga.-Auburn football verbal commitment Demetruce McNeal says that he is excited about how his senior season is going personally and for his Banneker High School football team.

"We just came off a big 51-7 win and we are playing Sandy Creek High this week for the region championship," he says.

"I am doing good," he notes. "I am leading the team in tackles, rushing touchdowns and catches. I am doing my part. I am trying to carry the team on my shoulders and doing what I have to do week in and week out.

"I don't know how many tackles I have, but I know I?am averaging about 12 a game," he says. "The most I had in one game was 16 vs. Villa Rica."

Auburn is recruiting McNeal to play safety. He has seen most of his action on defense at free safety, but has also played strong safety and cornerback. On offense he plays wide receiver, tailback and fullback.

His fraternal twin, Demarco, is also a prospect. "Demarco is doing well," Demetruce says. "His biggest game is one in which he caught two touchdown passes. He also had a game in which he had two interceptions."

Another teammate, Shaun Kitchens, is an Auburn commitment to play wide receiver.

"Me and Shaun both had a big game last week," McNeal says. "I had two touchdowns. I had a punt return for a touchdown and a receiving touchdown. Shaun took two passes to the house for touchdowns. The first was over 70 yards and the second one was 80-something yards."

McNeal notes he watched Auburn's victory over Ole Miss last week on TV and says he liked the game and is still excited about his commitment to the Tigers.
