Impressive Athlete Signs With The Tigers

This high school standout put up big numbers for more than one season.

Maryville, Tenn.--One of the earliest Auburn commitments is also one of the most impressive Auburn football signees.

Carl Stewart, a 6-2, 207-pound tailback from Division I, Class 4A power Maryville High in Tennessee, was a key player in three consecutive state titles for Maryville. He scored his 28th touchdown of the season in the state championship game come-from-behind victory over Hillsboro and he hit the 1,600 mark for rushing yards in 2002 despite sitting out a significant amount of time when Maryville had its way with overmatched opponents.
