The Scout.com four star prospect became a heavily recruited prospect after posting impressive numbers as a junior quarterback. However, at the collegiate level the 5-11, 175-pounder projects as a wide receiver.
Reed has been to Auburn on unofficial visits multiple times and was one of the bluechip prospects on campus for Auburn's "Big Cat Weekend" in May. In August the prospect was on campus with a large group of family members. He attended Auburn's game at LSU in October.
With scholarship offers from a variety of colleges, LSU and Auburn look to be his favorites although he has been considering a variety of programs, including schools as far away as the University of Oregon.
Trovon Reed is considered one of the top prospects in Louisiana this season.
Commenting on what he is seeking in his college choice, Reed says, "I am looking for a place with great coaches, playing time, great fans and great academics."
Reed missed three games during his senior season with what has been described as a slight MCL tear, but has returned to action leading his team into the state playoffs.
He is rated as the No. 11 prospect in the country by Scout.com.
