CB Prospect Headed to AU for Official Visit

High school senior Ryan White comments on his official visit scheduled this weekend to check out the Auburn football team.

Tallahassee, Fla.--It's been nearly a month since Ryan White made the decision to tell Auburn's football coaches that he plans to sign with the Tigers on Feb. 3rd and the Lincoln High standout says he still feels good about that decision as he prepares for a trip to the Auburn campus this weekend.

"I am very excited about coming up there," he tells Inside the Auburn Tigers.

"I feel very good about my decision to go to Auburn," he says. "Auburn was the best school recruiting me."

A 5-11, 185-pounder who was a standout at quarterback for Lincoln, he also played defense in critical situation and that is the side of the football he plans to line up on after he gets to the Auburn campus this summer.

White notes that he is already working on his conditioning so he will be ready to compete in preseason drills at Auburn in August for Coach Gene Chizik's Tigers.

"The last couple of weeks I have been making sure that I don't get lazy," he says. "I have been hitting the weights and staying in touch with Coach Lolley and Coach Chizik.

Phillip Lolley is the Auburn assistant coach who is recruiting White for the Tigers.

White will be following in the footsteps of his father as an SEC football player and a defensive back. Will White was a standout for the Florida Gators from 1989-92.

With this prospect firmly committed to Auburn he says his focus will be developing relationships with current members of the team and other recruits taking official visits this weekend. "What I am looking forward to is meeting those guys and start forming a bond with guys I will be playing with in the future," he says.
