Because of that his trip was probably more important for him to share his feelings about Auburn with his mother. In the end he said that was likely the biggest thing for him because he said as everyone knows ‘if mom isn't happy then nobody is happy'.
"It really went well," Mincy said. "I really enjoyed myself. I got to hang with a lot of the players. I got a feel for the environment and the Auburn life. I got to chill with a lot of the coaches. I let my mom get a feel for it. She had a lot of questions about the campus. We sat down and broke down the academics of the school. It was a fun experience. I really enjoyed myself."
Hosted by freshman wide receiver Emory Blake from Texas, Mincy said he enjoyed getting to know his future teammate and a player he'll get a chance to see a lot of on the practice field for years to come.
"He's a fun dude," Mincy said. "He was telling me about the one-on-one's and how it is with the wide receivers and defensive backs. I'm just really happy and ready to get there."
Already on board because of his relationship with the coaching staff, Mincy said the chance to spend more time with Chizik and his staff over the weekend was icing on the cake for his visit.
"It was really nice," Mincy said. "I got to meet with coach Chizik again, me, him and my mom. That was great. He was just telling my mom how she doesn't have to worry about anything because Auburn is more of a family. She was happy with that. As long as my mom is happy then I'm happy. I'm just ready to get there."
