Davis Delivers Scholarship Papers to Auburn

This talented two-way player signed with Auburn on Wednesday.

Birmingham, Ala.--Looking for speed and athleticism on defense and in the return game, Auburn could get both of those from Woodlawn's Chris Davis after he signed his Letter of Intent to join Gene Chizik's program on Wednesday.

A speedster who played quarterback and defensive back for the Colonels, the 5-11, 185 Davis had a huge senior season. In just nine games Davis finished with 10 touchdowns on the ground, one through the air, 877 yards rushing as a quarterback. He also added five interceptions as a defensive back.

Davis is expected to get a look at cornerback for the Tigers and also as a punt and kick return man. He chose Auburn over Mississippi State, South Carolina and several others.
