Auburn added another cog on the defensive side of the ball when Justin Delaine signed with the Tigers.
Linden, Ala.--On Wednesday defensive end Justin Delaine
made his dreams a reality as he signed with the Auburn
Tigers after committing to Gene Chizik
's team last August. A 6-6, 230-pounder with exceptional speed and quickness, Delaine has a tremendous amount of upside and should be a player to watch in the coming years.
A transfer from Sumter County, Delaine made a splash in his only season at the 1A powerhouse Linden. Playing mostly contain as a defensive end, Delaine finished the year with 49 tackles and nine sacks.
Delaine was a big part of a Patriots' defense that had a monster season in 2009. In 14 games Linden allowed just 56 points and had an incredible eight shutouts.
He chose Auburn over Mississippi State, Southern Miss, Troy and several other programs.
