Defensive Lineman Signs With Tigers

Greenville High standout Kenneth Carter will come to Auburn at a position of need for Coach Gene Chizik's Tigers.

Greenville, Ala.--Kenneth Carter has sent in his national letter of intent to play football for the Auburn Tigers. The 6-4, 270-pounder from Greenville High School is rated a four-star recruit and the No. 17 defensive tackle prospect in the nation according to Scout.com.

Carter committed to Auburn on July 27 so that he would be able to concentrate fully on his final high school season on the field and he the classroom and he put up some impressive numbers as a senior. He racked up 76 tackles, two sacks, five forced fumbles, two interceptions, a blocked a field goal and even scored two defensive touchdowns.

Following the season, Carter was named the Alabama 5A Lineman of the Year and participated in the Alabama-Mississippi All-Star game.

He chose Auburn over Alabama, LSU and a variety of other colleges.
