Chizik Not Commenting on Rollison

Redshirt freshman quarterback Tyrik Rollison's days at Auburn may be numbered.

Auburn, Ala.--Quarterback Tyrik Rollison, who was suspended from the Auburn football team for bowl practices as well as the game, has told friends that he is leaving the program and will transfer to Sam Houston State.

Auburn head coach Gene Chizik has not been available for comment on the situation. Rollison is currently enrolled in practice at Auburn and was expected to be in a five-player competition for the starting spot vacated by graduating senior Chris Todd.

Rollison redshirted this past fall as a freshman after losing a three-way battle for the starting job in preseason with Todd and Neil Caudle, who played as the number two quarterback last year.

Caudle, redshirt freshman Clint Mosley, redshirt sophomore Barrett Trotter and junior college transfer Cameron Newton will be competing for the starting spot this spring.

Rollison, who is from Sulphur Springs Tex., was a U.S. Army All-American in high school who passed for 8,413 yards in his career.
