Big Names Expected In For Junior Day

The nation's top tight end prospect as well as several of the top players in the South are expected in for Auburn's junior day on Saturday.

Auburn, Ala.--Auburn's push towards another top recruiting class takes another step forward on Saturday as over 100 top prospects are expected to be on campus for a junior day as the Tigers practice for the third time this spring. Looking to build on a solid first year both on the field and on the recruiting trail, coach Gene Chizik and his staff are hard at work pushing towards February of 2011.

As expected in-state players will continue to be an emphasis for the staff and offensive linemen Spencer Region from Cullman has already committed and is scheduled to be in on Saturday along with the top center prospect in the state Reese Dismukes from Spanish Fort. Another talented offensive lineman expected in is Kevin Naumann from Decatur High.

Offensively the Tigers are looking for help at running back and one of the targets is big back Brent Calloway from Russellville High. An Alabama commitment, he is expected in for his second visit to Auburn this spring. At wide receiver Sammie Coates is a dynamic prospect from Leroy High that is an early commitment to Southern Miss. A teammate of Auburn quarterback Clint Mosley, Coates is a big-time player that should continue to rise up recruiting charts.

On the defensive side of the ball Valley safety Erique Florence has been a frequent visitor to Auburn and is expected back int his weekend. Also expected in for another visit is big safety Anthony Swain from Gadsden City. A pair of standouts from Escambia County high in Atmore are also scheduled to be in town as well in Damien Brown and Rico Stallworth.

It's not only players from Alabama coming in on Saturday as several of the top players in the South are also expected in. Big wide receiver/tight end Jay Rome is among the best at his position in the country and will be taking his first trip to Auburn. He is rated as the nation's top tight end according to and has offers from across the country as does Cook County (Adel, Ga.) linebacker Shannon Brown, who is also expected in.

Among the other players that could be in on Saturday are Paul Kyles (Vigor TE), Corey Moore (Griffin (Ga.) LB), Thomas O'Reilly (Marietta-Pope OL), Gavin Rocker Sandy Creek High, Tyrone, Ga, DE), Anthony Spano (Naples, Fla. OL), and Josh Walker (Lovejoy DL).
