Marietta, Ga.--Saturday was a day when many of the top junior prospects in the South came to check out coach Gene Chizik's Auburn Tigers. One of those in attendance was big offensive lineman Thomas O'Reilly from Pope High School.
With offers from top programs in the SEC and ACC, O'Reilly says Saturday's trip gave him a chance to see Auburn once again as well as hang out with a few more of the top offensive line prospects on the Tigers' board.
"Things went pretty well," O'Reilly tells Inside The Auburn Tigers. "We got over there this morning and watched the scrimmage. I went to some food and then me and Spencer (Spencer Region) and Reese (Reese Dismukes) hung out and it was kind of cool. I got to see some things I haven't seen before. It was nice.
"I got to see a side of Auburn that I had not seen before," he adds. "I got to meet more of the people. Overall it was a great day."
Already familiar with Region after the two met while on a recruiting trip, O'Reilly notes that spending the day with his fellow offensive line prospects was the highlight of the visit for him.
"It was awesome," O'Reilly says. "I have been talking to Spencer the last couple of weeks. We talk at least once a week and text all the time. This was my first time meeting Reese. They are both pretty cool guys. They both have goals to play big-time football and to graduate early."
Up to 12 offers at the moment with schools such as Auburn, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Wake Forest and Vanderbilt on board, O'Reilly says that he's pretty open at the moment and doesn't have a leader or even a top group.
"I don't really have a leader," O'Reilly says. "I'm still pretty open. I hope to narrow my list down and have a decision by the end of the school year."
