Large Lineman Checks Out Auburn's Junior Day

A report on an in-state 2011 football prospect is featured.

Birmingham, Ala.--A large junior offensive tackle from Huffman High School, Tyler Marzette, visited Auburn's Junior Day on Saturday in search of his first scholarship offer.

Marzette, a 6-6, 320-pounder from Huffman High School, says, "I had a real nice visit. I liked Auburn and I think the campus is real good and the staff is real good."

Marzette, who says he has started for two years in high school, says that he is interested in Coach Gene Chizik's Tigers.

"I like Vanderbilt, too," he says. "Auburn is one of my top schools. I think they have a real good offensive lineman coach (Jeff Grimes).

He says his visit to Auburn's Junior Day on Saturday helped reinforce his opinion of the Auburn staff as he got to watch practice and talk with the coaches. "I like the staff, and I think Auburn would be a good fit for my playing style," he says.

Marzette, who notes that he hasn't been able to go to any other junior days, says he is still looking for his first scholarship offer. The junior also plays center in basketball at Huffman.
