Marcus Continues to Show Interest in Auburn

A prospect whose stock is rising, Kadetrix Marcus, talks about a return visit to check out the Auburn football program.

Powder Springs, Ga.--A football prospect who is receiving plenty of attention from college coaching staffs, including the one at Auburn, made a return visit to the Auburn campus for last weekend's junior day.

Kadetrix Marcus, a 6-1, 191 pound safety, says he was able to spend time talking to the AU coaches, including the head man, Gene Chizik.

Marcus also made the trip to Auburn in February to check out the program. On Saturday, he was able to watch the Tigers go through their first full contact day of spring training.

"It was a real good visit and I like it," he says of Auburn. "I talked to the coaches and they were real friendly. I like they way they coach and I know Coach Gene Chizik used to coach defensive backs. I like how their players graduate and how things are run.

"I like Coach Chizik, he is a real down-to-earth person, a good man," adds Marcus, who is finishing his junior season in high school.

A prospect who notes that he is still growing, he says he expects to get to around 6-2, 200 pounds by the time he is ready to play college football.

When he arrives on campus, he wants to major in business management. Off the field he looks to be in good shape to make that happen "I have a 3.0 core grade point average," he notes.

With good grades, good size and football skills, the coaches at Auburn aren't the only ones who have taken notice.

"Recruiting has picked up a lot," Marcus says. "I know what schools like me. Auburn, of course, is one of them along with South Carolina, Stanford, UConn, Middle Tennessee State, Memphis and Purdue."
