Talented Trio of Prospects To Visit Auburn

A trio of top football prospects are expected to visit Auburn for Wednesday's practice.

Auburn, Ala.--Spring break means a time of travel for top football prospects from coast to coast and three of them are expected to be in Auburn on Wednesday as the Tigers go through the paces in spring practice.

North Carolina prep standouts Christian LeMay and Eric MacLain as well as Columbus (Ga.) defensive lineman Gabe Wright are among the best players at their position in the country and all are expected in to see coach Gene Chizik's program.

Eric MacLain

Down 20 pounds from last season, MacLain is still an imposing presence at tight end with his 6-5, 246 frame. A one-time commitment to Tennessee, the Jack Britt High standout has worked hard to improve his physical skills and it has shown on the field. He currently has offers from Arkansas, Clemson, Duke, Georgia Tech, Maryland, NC State, North Carolina, Penn State, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia Tech, and West Virginia in addition to Auburn.

One of the most polished quarterbacks in the country, the 6-3, 185 LeMay has narrowed a huge list of offers down to 10 schools with one of them being Auburn. The others are Alabama, Clemson, Florida, Georgia, Miami, Notre Dame, Tennessee, Texas A&M, and Virginia Tech. On his way to leading his team to a perfect 15-0 season and a state title he threw for 3,296 yards with a 44-2 touchdown-to-interception ratio and a 69-percent completion rate.

Gabe Wright

A four-star prospect and the number eight defensive tackle in the nation, the 6-3, 270 Wright has been to Auburn several times this spring and wants to take another look at the Tigers. Auburn, Alabama, Florida State and Georgia have been the leaders for Wright for much of the last month with USC, Oklahoma State and several others also in the picture.
