"You can say Auburn is a strong leader for me," says Rose, who notes that he is honored to be ranked as a four-star prospect and the nation's No. 12 cornerback prospect.
"I am never going to let it get to my head, but I will always be taking that as my game is improving," he says. "I am always looking for improvement in my life."
The Leeds High star adds, "I came down last night to Auburn and stayed and got to meet a whole bunch of players and speak to the guys about some of the academics in college life--how it is faster than high school. We also talked football. We mostly talked football."
Rose, who notes that he will return for Auburn's A-Day spring football game on April 17th, says he hasn't decided exactly when he will make his college choice, but notes it will likely happen in the summer.
"I haven't picked a certain day," he says, pointing out that he might wake up one morning and decide to announce that he is going to sign with the Tigers. "I am going to come up to (Auburn) and get with Coach Thig (safeties coach Tommy Thigpen), Coach Lolley (cornerbacks Phillip Lolley) and Coach Chizik (head coach Gene Chizik) and see how it goes from there."
Rose notes that every trip to Auburn has been "special" for him. Commenting on his most recent visit, he says, "I spent a lot of time with Coach Thig and Coach Lolley."
He says that Lolley likes his height (6-1 1/2), speed and athleticism. "He likes the physical build and that is what attracts him to certain cornerbacks," he says of Lolley.
Commenting on Auburn, Rose says, "It is number one on my list. I don't think anybody will be able to match it. I haven't been everywhere yet, but once I visit everywhere I will be able to compare them, but no one right now is comparing to Auburn. I have got to go to Georgia and Tennessee and I have been to Alabama and Florida State."
