In-State Junior Prospect Returns to Auburn

Keymiya Harrell, a two-sport athlete, talks about his most recent trip to check out the Auburn Tigers and his opinion of Coach Gene Chizik's team.

Plantersville, Ala.--Defensive end prospect Keymiya Harrell from Dallas County High says he enjoyed his most recent visit to Auburn despite not getting to the A-Day spring game in time to see most of the action.

A late-arriving crowd of than 60,000 fans at Jordan-Hare Stadium caused traffic backups and caused thousands of people attending the spring game to be tardy on Saturday afternoon. Harrell notes that he was one of them.

"My visit went well even though I got there late," Harrell points out. "I got a chance to talk to several of the coaches and that was good."

The 6-5, 235-pounder notes that Auburn is his leader over Tennessee, Mississippi State and others. "They have a good football program and they really care about their academics at Auburn," he says. "I wouldn't mind at all playing there. Auburn is a real good school."

Last season the defensive lineman made 75 tackles with nine sacks. After averaging 10 points and 10 rebounds in basketball, he will be putting the football gear on soon for spring practice. "We are getting started in about a week or so," he says.
