"Auburn is a great school and it seems like it would be a nice place to be in school," Buie says. "Auburn has great coaches and they are nice guys."
Buie and his teammate, cornerback Ahmad Christian, have been visiting colleges this month and both note they are interested in the Tigers.
Buie rushed for 1,901 yards and 22 touchdowns as a first team Class A All-State selection as a junior. "We are returning 17 starters and we were the state runnerup last year so I think we have a pretty good chance of taking it all this year," Buie says.
Commenting on his style as a running back, the rising senior says, "I think I am very diverse. I don't have a particular category to me as a running back. I can do it all as a running back so I?think that is a very good strength for me."
Buie says he currently stands 5-9 and weighs 180 pounds, but says he should not just be considered a speed back. "I am fast, but I will still drop the shoulder over people," he says.
The Jacksonville Christian star says he knew before his trip that Auburn has a history of producing star running backs and notes the coaches made sure he was aware of that on his unofficial visit.
"Coach (running backs coach Curtis Luper) showed me their offense and a lot of their sets require three running backs on the field at the same time so you are definitely are going to be out there on the field," Buie says. "They have a real good scheme. You have to be very diverse as a back to play Auburn's style of offense. Coach was showing me what was going on and I like it."
Commenting on what he is looking for in a college, Buie says, "I am looking for a school I can showcase my talents. The ultimate goal is to earn a degree and then have a chance to play at the next level."
