Defensive End to Fill Final '10 Football Slot

Auburn football signee Joel Bonomolo will be on campus soon.

Auburn, Ala.--All 25 of Auburn's available spots for 2010 football signees have been filled with junior college defensive end Joel Bonomolo being cleared academically to transfer to Auburn.

The native of Metairie, La, who played at Fullerton College in California the past two seasons, will have two seasons of eligibility at Auburn. Bonomolo, who is 6-2, 245 pounds,

Last fall he played in just four games due to a shoulder problem. He ended his season early after electing to have surgery and is expected to be full speed when practice stars at Auburn in August. He was credited with four sacks in 2009.

In 2008, as a true freshman, he made 12 1/2 sacks and was credited with 65 total tackles and 18 tackles behind the line of scrimmage.

Auburn's other 2010 class signees are currently enrolled at Auburn. Bonomolo will start classes in August.

Bonomolo was a very early commitment to Auburn, choosing the Tigers on July 15th, 2009. He picked Auburn over Utah, Iowa State, Arizona, Arizona State, Washington, UCLA, San Diego State and others.
