King-Sized Lineman Likes the Tigers

Brandon King updates recruiting and his interest in the Auburn football Tigers.

Stockbridge, Ga.--Brandon King is headed to Oak Ridge Military Academy this fall to finish his classwork and play football before heading off to college.

The 6-5, 300-pounder visited the Auburn campus and says Coach Gene Chizik's Tigers are a team of interest. "I like everything about the Tigers--the football program, the facilities, the coaches," he tells Inside the Auburn Tigers. It is a good school to be at.

"I have haven't made up my mind yet on where I am going to college," he adds, noting that he has a list of colleges he is considering.

King, who plays both defense and offense, says he has scholarship offers from Syracuse, North Carolina State, Michigan State, Troy and Memphis and is also hearing from Kentucky, Alabama, West Virginia and South Florida in addition to Auburn.

"I will be done at Oak Ridge in December and in January I?plan to go to college," says King. "I am playing on the defensive line and the offensive line this season. I like defensive tackle best.

"Some of the colleges want me to play offensive tackle, but most are recruiting me for defense," he notes. "I think defensive tackle is my best position."

King has grown taller and added around 25 pounds in the past year.

King earned All-Region honors as a senior at Stockbridge High School even though the team struggled and won just two games. King notes that the he made 68 tackles with eight sacks during the 2009 season.

Commenting on what he is looking for when he will make his decision on a college choice, the big lineman says, ""I am looking for a college with nice facilities and somewhere where I can get a good education and play in a good football program."
