Dye was head coach at Auburn from 1981 through 1992 and led the Tigers to four SEC championships and coached numerous All-SEC and All-American players including one of the top performers in college football history, 1985 Heisman Trophy winner Bo Jackson.
Dye's teams were known for their intensity and hard-nosed style of play and the coach himself has a reputation for being direct and to the point about taking stands on a variety of subjects concerning the sport he loves.
