Coaches Announce Depth Chart for Opener

Newcomers are on the Auburn football team are well represented on the depth chart for the Arkansas State game.

Auburn, Ala.--Auburn coach Gene Chizik announced his depth chart for Saturday night's opener vs. Arkansas State and there were no surprises.

The Auburn coaches, who have consistently had praise for their 2010 signee class, have 14 true freshman on the depth chart they announced on Tuesday.<

The only member of Auburn's highly-regarded 2010 signee class who made the starting lineup is quarterback Cameron Newton, a junior college transfer from Blinn in Texas who previously played in the SEC at Florida. Newton, an early graduate, won the first team job in spring practice.

Tailback Michael Dyer, who is shown in practice, set the Arkansas high school record for rushing yardage in a career.

True freshmen on the depth chart include Michael Dyer, Shaun Kitchens, Trovon Reed, Cody Parkey, Steven Clark, walk-on deep snapper Forrest Hill, Corey Lemonier, Jeffrey Whitaker, Craig Sanders, Jake Holland, Jessel Curry, Jawara White, Chris Davis and Jonathon Mincy.

The Tigers only have two first-time starters on the depth chart--Newton and junior right offensive tackle A.J. Greene.

A.J. Greene has played just briefly for the Tigers heading into this year's opener.

The two-deep includes walk-ons Jay Wisner at receiver, Blake Burgess at center, Jorrell Bostrom at right guard, Josh Harris and Hill at deep snapper. Harris, a junior, was put on scholarship earlier this month.
