McFatridge Learns Quickly

Center Grove (Ind.) junior linebacker Keegan McFatridge has height, length, and now an improved understanding of the position after playing it for another year.

Center Grove High School junior Keegan McFatridge is a 6'4, 210-lb outside linebacker who put together a good 2012 season after learning the position further.

"I thought i did pretty well. I definitely improved my performance from last year. I felt I helped us be successful this year. Last year, I started a couple games, but I was switching out with a senior. This year, I stepped into a starting role."

McFatridge admits it was tough initially, but the experience helped him move forward.

"It was a little tough because I used to kind of going off and on, but it's a learning process. I switched from my freshman year being a quarterback actually, so I was learning a lot last year."

So far, mail and recruiting attention has been slow to come, but there are a few programs making early contact.

"Not really that much right now, just Ball State and schools like Toledo and Bowling Green."

He hopes to hear more from in-state schools, including Notre Dame, the school McFatridge says he grew up rooting for.

"I'm really excited about how they've been doing this year. I've been a fan pretty much my whole life. It's great to see them finally have a good year. It's nice to see Teo have great success. They've always been good, but it's nice to see his name finally break through."

McFatridge says he hopes to camp at Ball State, and isn't certain which other schools he will head to, but he does know another he wants to make it to.

"Hopefully Indiana. That's where both my parents went, and ideally where I'd like to go."
