Braster Adding Weight and Interest

Fort Wayne South Side (Ind.) junior defensive end Nathan Braster is a rising name to watch who is beginning to hear from more and more schools.

Nathan Braster caught the attention of observers at the Best of the Midwest with his frame and athleticism, and he is still making strides in the weight room.

"Last season, before I started AWP," he explained, "I was 215 back in November once the season ended. Now I'm at 235 pushing 240 and still running a 4.79."

This offseason schools will get to see the improvements he has made, and he has already heard from several local programs.

"Right now, Indiana, Purdue, Ball State, those are probably the top three schools on me right now. I went to Illinois on a junior day."

Braster says that junior day allowed him to get to know the Illini better.

"I like their head coach. He's a good guy. Their D-Line coach, he's cool, I really like him. It'd definitely be a school I'd be interested in going to."

While no offers have arrived yet, Braster knows if he keeps working and continues to do what he does with AWP, he will get to where he wants to go.

"It's helped me so much," he said of their training. "I'm extremely grateful for what they've been doing for me. Everything they've done for me has been very helpful. It's amazing what they're doing over there."
