"I sat down with my parents last night," Joss said. "We went over the pros and cons of all the schools and what was the best fit for me. We all just decided that Ball State was the best place to be."
The 6-5 280 Joss chose Ball State over offers from Bowling Green and Old Dominion.
"It really came down to the coaching staffs and who I felt most comfortable with," Joss said. "The coaches (at Ball State) are really who I want to play for."
Joss, who is also an All-State power lifter, has made three trips to Muncie and said that each occurrence left him "with a better impression" of the school.
With his decision out of the way, Joss can focus on what might prove to be a very successful senior year.
"Our goal is always to win a state championship," Joss said. "But this year I think we have a very good chance. We have a lot of linemen back and our speed on the outside is really good. I got to see some of our passing offense (7-on-7) this summer and they are doing really well."
