It's Official: Skrosky named Elon Head Coach

Three years after leaving Elon as part of Coach Pete Lembo's staff. OC Rich Strosky returns to North Carolina to coach the Phoenix.

Ball State Offensive Coordinator and QB Coach Rich Skrosky has been named the head football coach at Elon University.

"It is with mixed emotions I am leaving Ball State to take the head coaching position at Elon," Skrosky says. "It is an opportunity at this point in my career I could not pass up. Head coaching positions do not come along very often, and when this one did, I felt I had to pursue it."

Skrosky, who has coached with Ball State Head Coach Pete Lembo for the past 6 years, spent the past three in Muncie running the Cardinals prolific offense.

"I cannot thank the offensive staff and players enough for all they have done over the last three seasons," Skrosky said. "They epitomize what college athletics is all about. It was a group of people who share a common cause and come to work every day to fulfill that responsibility. This has been the most gratifying three seasons of my professional career. It is because of these people I have the opportunity at Elon. I will be forever indebted. I would like to thank Coach Pete Lembo for all the support he has given me over these past three seasons as well as our time at Elon."

Under Skrosky's guidance. Ball State has had a 25-12 record over the past three years and back-to-back bowl appearances after the 2012 and 2013 seasons.
