Armstrong has Ball State Offer

Ball State is looking to round out its Football Recruiting Class of 2014.

With signing day fast approaching, the Ball State staff is looking to finish up an already strong 2014 recruiting class.

One new target on the list is Mykelti Armstrong a 6-1 175 wide receiver from Gastonia (NC) Forestview High School. Armstrong had a great senior year with 101 receptions, 1,444 receiving yards and 20 receiving touchdowns in leading Forestview to a 10-5 record and the State Semifinals in class 3A. The outstanding campaign earned him an Associated Press All-State selection and a late addition to the Shrine Bowl.

Armstrong currently has offers from Ball State, Western Carolina, Elon, Furman and Cambell. He plans on visiting Ball State and plans to a make a decision soon. Armstrong is being recruited by Ball State Receivers Coach Keith Gaither.

"I really like their wide open passing offense and the fact they have been in multiple bowl games recently," Armstrong said.

Armstrong says his biggest strengths are his ability to beat corners off the line and being able to go up and get the ball. With Ball State losing three receivers this year, Armstrong seems like a natural fit in the Cardinal offense.
