Ward Enjoys Visit, Chooses Ball State

Ball State added commitment #17 this weekend as they picked up a Flordia S/ATH.

East Lee County (FL) ATH/S Winfred Ward must have had a solid visit this past weekend as he quickly committed to Ball State on Sunday.

"Yes sir," Ward said. "It was nice. Going up to Indiana and getting to be a part of a new experience was great. The players just took me in and made me feel like I was a part of the program already."

Ward, a 6-2 200 ATH, is projected as a Safety for Ball State, but has the athletic talent to play several positions. As a prep QB, Ward threw for close to 1,500 yards and 13 touchdowns. On the defensive side of the ball he had 21 tackles and broke up three passes.

"As a player, I am just ready and willing for everything," Ward said. "Whatever comes at me I will do."

Ward committed to Ball State over offers from South Alabama and Appalachian State and interest from Florida Atlantic.
