The 6-5 280 lineman had a little hint that the offer might be coming the night before his arrival, but the news was still awesome for him.
"I heard it (about the offer) from my high school coach the day before, but didn't know when I was going to get it," Martin said.
In between his busy spring schedule, Martin was able to attend practice in Muncie and meet with the coaches, where he was offered.
"The visit was great," Martin said. "I met with Coach (Joey) Lynch, Coach Dave (Feeley), the strength coach, Coach (John) Strollo, the oline coach and Coach (Pete) Lembo, along with the other great people on they're staff."
And as per what most recruits say about their visits to Ball State, Martin came away most impressed with Strength Coach Feeley.
"Yeah, he is intense," Martin said. "But the things he told me were great. My trainer at home Greg McIravy from Root 18 Cross Fit has trained me exactly how Feeley trains. I really liked Coach Feeley. We had a lot to talk about and the facilities were top of the line. Nothing bad could be said about the school."
With an offer already in had from Toledo as well, recruiting has not slowed down at all for Martin. Aside from his visit today, he also met with Purdue's Coach Jim Bridge on Friday and has plenty more visits coming up.
