Poenitsch Picks Up First Offer

A Wisconsin OL was a recent visitor to Ball State and found out a few days later that he had picked up an offer.

Ball State became the first school to offer a scholarship to Sussex (WI) Hamilton OL Andrew Poentisch.

"I called Coach (Justin) Lustig today to follow up on my visit from last Saturday," Poentisch said. "He offered me on the phone. It's an unbelievable feeling, especially coming from this program."

The 6-4 285 Poenitsch has already made the trek from Wisconsin to Ball State to visit and he came away impressed with his time in Muncie.

"I really liked their coaches' personalities," he said of what he enjoyed the most. "As well as their campus and facilities."

Poenitsch also has visited Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa State, and Northern Illinois this spring. Other schools that have been recruiting him include Michigan State, Princeton, South Dakota, North Dakota State, Western Illinois, Cincinnati, Eastern Michigan, and Cornell.
