Poenitsch Talks Ball State Verbal

The Class of 2015 has started to take off for Ball State and Head Football Coach Pete Lembo as they picked up their third verbal commitment in a week.

Andrew Poenitsch knew it when he arrived on campus – Ball State was going to be the place for him.

The 6-4 285 OG from Wisconsin powerhouse Hamilton Sussex verbally committed just 12 days after making his trip to Muncie to see the Ball State campus, and just 10 days after getting his offer from the Cardinal coaching staff.

"I can't wait to be a Cardinal," Poenitsch said. "I love everything about their program."

Despite missing most of this past season due to injury, Poenitsch has still shone bright enough to get the attention of college coaches, including Ball State.

"It's an unbelievable feeling," Poenitsch said. "After my visit, I knew who I wanted to play for."

Poenitsch chose Ball State over interest from Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa State, Northern Illinois, Michigan State, Princeton, South Dakota, North Dakota State, Western Illinois, Cincinnati, Cornell and Eastern Michigan.
