Louisville ATH Visits Ball State

One of the top 2-way athletes in the Commonwealth of Kentucky visited Ball State this past weekend.

One of the top athletes in Kentucky made a trip north to visit Ball State this past weekend.

Sean Hammonds, a 6-3 220 TE/DE/LB, from Louisville Ballard came away impressed with both the campus and the facilities.

"The visit was great, I loved it," Hammonds said. "I saw the campus and the football facility. What really stood out was the campus. It is really nice and easy to get around for college. It would make life easier for an incoming freshman."

Hammonds excelled on offense last season and projects as a flex TE that can line up in the slot, split wide, line up at H-Back and even line up on the line. His receiving skills earned him all-district honors in the loaded Louisville area. Defensively, Hammonds is a fleet-footed standup DE that can get to the QB with regularity, but also has the speed and agility to play LB and cover.

Because of his ability to play multiple positions, Hammonds is a coveted prospect for several colleges.

"I have quite a long list of teams recruiting me," Hammonds said. "I visited Ball State, Purdue, Lousiville and Western Kentucky already and I plan on going up to Miami (OH) sometime soon."
