Schrank talks Ball State Offer

Ball State offered Hamilton Southeastern TE prospect Kyle Schrank on Wednesday, his second offer.

There is no doubt that Ball State likes versatile Flex TEs in their offense and the Cardinal coaching staff is hard at work looking to find a replacement for the graduated Zane Fakes to fill that spot in their prolific offense.

On Wednesday, they extended an offer to Hamilton Southeastern (IN) TE Kyle Schrank with the hopes that he can fit that mold.

"My head coach texted me and told me to call (Ball State Offensive Coordinator) Coach (Joey) Lynch and he told me about the offer," Schrank said. "It's the best feeling in the world. I'm still in shock. My dream has always been to play division 1 football."

The 6-3 230 Schrank excels at several areas on offense. He is an effective blocker, but is best noted for his ability as a receiver, he is versatile enough to line up with his hand in the dirt, in the slot or out wide.

"I am at my best when I get the ball in space," Schrank said when asked about his strengths on the field. "I am a very versatile tight end."

Schrank, who is an avid outdoorsman who enjoys hunting and fishing, plans on camping at Ohio State and Northwestern this summer and is being recruited by Northwestern, Air Force, Cincinnati, Indiana, Miami of Ohio and Ohio to go along with his offers from Ball State and Eastern Michigan.
