Cardinals Offer Florida DE

Ball State continues to make the rounds in Florida and offering some of the top prospects in the state.

Tarpon Springs (FL) DE Mitchell Wilcox is the latest Sunshine State prospect to pick up an offer from Ball State as he was offered on Monday afternoon.

"(Ball State) Coach (Keith) Gaither called to tell me the good news," the 6-4 225 Wilcox said about how he found out the news of his offer.

For Wilcox, it his is second offer overall, but his first from an FBS level school. The Cardinals join James Madison as the two programs who have extended him an offer.

For Wilcox though, there is a lot of learning to do about the program in Muncie, IN.

" I don't know much about Ball State yet but I've heard they have a great program," Wilcox said. "I'm excited to see what the school is like and what they are all about.."

Wilcox was offered as a DE by Ball State, but is a legitimate TE prospect as well.<./p>

"I have a good motor and I don't back down," Wilcox said. "I never come off the field and I love tight end and defensive end. (Ball State) Offered as a defensive end, but they haven't looked at my film as an offensive staff yet."
