Ball State the first offer for DE

Ball State offered a Cincinnati area DE last week, the player's first offer.

Milan Lanier is glad to get finally get that first offer.

The 6-5 215 DE from Cincinnati's Mount Healthy High School picked up an offer from Ball State late last week. His first of what could prove to be many as schools begin to find the athletic speed DE.

"I heard about the offer from my Coach – Arvie Crouch," Lanier said. "He told me to contact my recruiting coach at Ball State about an offer and I did. It feels very good to receive an offer from Ball State. It gave me more motivation to work hard each and single day."

With his first offer under his belt, Lanier is eager to learn more about Ball State.

"I know Ball State is a MAC school," Lanier said. "I know they have a lot to offer me and I really want come up to learn more about them."

As far as his game, Lanier was quick to point out some strong assets that coaches will love.

"On the football field, I bring intensity, field awareness, and love for the game," Lanier said. "Also I feel like I really have a good football IQ and when I'm in my zone and let the game come to me I feel nobody can stop me."

With only Ball State and Illinois having contacted Lanier to this point, he is eager to hit the ground running on the summer camp circuit.

"I'm planning on hitting the camps hard this summer," Lanier said. "But I haven't really decided which ones yet."
