"Electric" ATH Gets First Offer

Versatile Winton Woods athlete picks up first offer from Ball State.

Cincinnati Winton Wood's Christian Lumpkin has the skill set to play all over the field on the offensive side of the ball, and it is that talent that led Ball State to extend an offer to him this week.

"It's really a blessing because not a lot of people can say they have a full ride to play football, and D1 at that, so it is really a blessing," Lumpkin said.

The 5-9 175 RB/WR has the speed to be a major asset as a space player either as a slot or coming out of the backfield.

"I was offered as a slot (receiver) but they also see me playing running back and returning kicks," Lumpkin said of Ball State's plans with him. "I'm an electric play maker; I can make a lot guys miss. I am very fast but I also surprise a lot of people with my strength."

Lumpkin, who has interest from West Virginia, Kentucky, Ohio, Bowling Green, Toledo, Kent, Navy, Army & Middle Tennessee State, has been impressed so far with his interactions with Ball State and plans on learning a lot more.

"I really like the offense they have and the coaches I have met so far are really cool," Lumpkin said. "And I plan on visiting soon and learning more."
