Dunner Talks Ball State Commitment

Ball State picks up second commitment of 4th of July weekend.

Dundee-Crown (IL) RB/WR Malik Dunner had no doubt where he wanted to go. The 5-11 188 projected Slot WR had offers from Ball State and North Dakota State, but the impression left by the Cardinal coaching staff left him no doubt with his decision.

“Ball State doesn't only have a good football program,” Dunner said. “But they have a program built around great players and coaches with great character with a coach that cares so much about his players succeeding in life and on the football field.”

Dunner, an electric athlete who excelled as a junior with Dundee-Crown by playing in the backfield, will his career progress as a Slot WR, a spot that the Cardinals use in myriad ways.<\p>

”I feel really excited about it,” Dunner said of the position change. “Especially at a MAC school with all the different things they do with slot players.”

With his decision out of the way, Dunner can now focus solely on his senior season.

”I will be just trying to stay healthy,” Dunner said of his goals for his senior campaign. “And playing to the best of my ability to prepare me for the next level.”
