Campfield Enjoys Ball State

Ball State entertained a number of recruits last weekend for its homecoming game against Western Michigan.

Kyle Campfield is still waiting on that elusive first offer, but hopes he is getting closer with Ball State.

”I hope so,” Campfield said of the prospects of an offer. “I’ve been told that I’m on their board.”

Campfield, a 6-3 260 DE/DT from Springboro, OH, was able to attend last Saturday’s homecoming game at Ball State and came away impressed despite the Cardinals close loss.

” It was a beautiful campus and I love the facilities,” Campfield said. “Plus a great game that we went to as well.”

Campfield has a nice blend of size and athleticism that allows him some versatility up front. At 6-3 260, he is still nimble enough to serve a role as a DE in a 3-4 scheme or slide inside as a 3-technique DT in a 4-3 scheme. Both positions are ones that he has played this season for the 6-1 Panthers.

Ball State is not alone in keep tabs on Campfield either.

”I am hearing from Army and UTEP, Campfield said. “Plus a lot of FCS & D2 schools.”
