Doaks Gets First Two

Class of 2016 Indianapolis area RB picked up his first two offers in the span of three days this week.

Gerrid Doaks got a quick burst of great news this week as he picked two offers in the span of three days from two Mid-American Conference teams.

Doaks, a 6-0 195 RB from Lawrence Central High in Indianapolis, received his first offer from Ball State followed by Miami of Ohio two days later.

“The Ball Sate offer we actually were face to face in my coach’s office,” Doaks said. “And the Miami of Ohio offer was over the phone this morning with Coach Martin. I was really excited. Knowing I have the chance to play football at the collegiate level.”

Doaks compiled 1,242 yards and 15 touchdowns along with catching 12 passes out of the backfield as a junior. It was those numbers that helped placed the RB on the recruiting map.

“I have speed and size,” Doaks said when asked about his strengths as a runner. “I'm a downhill runner, but can also make moves in the open field. I'm not afraid of contact. I get yards after contact. And I never give up.”
