Ball State offers Bedford Duo

Two players from Bedford High School received offers from Ball State. One was his first.

For Cameron Odom, it was the news he had been waiting for and for Chawntez Moss, it was the chance to continue playing with his friend.

On Monday evening, the pair of Bedford (OH) athletes were extended offers from Ball State, the first for Odom.

“It feels great,” Odom said. “But I know not to be complacent.”

Odom, a 6-1 175 speedy WR, is also hearing from Cincinnati, Toledo, Bowling Green, Miami and Purdue. He wants to make a trip to Muncie soon to take in the campus and states that he knows some about the Cardinal football program.

“I know about them being in the MAC (Mid-American Conference)”, Odom said. “And them having a very good program.”

For Odom’s teammate, 6-0 200 RB Chawntez Moss, it is another offer in a growing list, but one that intrigues him because it is the first he shares with his close friend and teammate Odom.

“Me and Cam are like brothers,” Moss said. “Since we were freshmen, we wanted to play together at the next level.”

Moss also holds offers from Toledo, Bowling Green, Cincinnati, Miami, Western Michigan, Akron, Indiana and Kent State. And while the prospect of playing with his best friend is one he intends to explore, he currently lists Indiana and Cincinnati as the offers at the top of his list. That isn’t stopping him from looking into the Cardinal football program a little more.

“I’ve got to do some research on Ball State now to learn more about it,” Moss said.
