Walton Talks Ball State Offer

As the offers roll in, Cass Tech LB Tim Walton takes time to talk about his latest offer, from Ball State.

Detroit Cass LB Tim Walton is a hot name in the Midwest right now. The 6-2 225 athlete recently picked up offers from Cincinnati, Eastern Michigan, Kent State, Toledo and Western Michigan. On Wednesday, Walton added an offer from Ball State while on a visit to the school.

“It was great, I had a nice time,” Walton said. “I actually met with the whole staff and I heard of the possibility of the offer through Coach (Keith) Gaither.”

The Ball State offer hits close to home for Walton. His father, Tim Sr., was an All-Mid-American Conference performer and 4 year starter at LB for Ball State. The elder Walton is also a member of the Cardinals’ athletic Hall of Fame.

“It’s really a blessing to be able to have a choice to play for my father’s Alma Mater,” Walton said. With all those offers already in hand it is just the tip of the iceberg for Walton.

“I’m also getting recruited by Illinois, Nebraska, Michigan, Bowling Green, Buffalo, Ohio State and the schools that have already offered me,” Walton said. :I’m scheduled to go to Kent State, Western Michigan and Bowling Green still this month.”
