Mathis Picks up First

Cardinals offer offensive lineman from Indianapolis powerhouse Warren Central.

Indianapolis Warren Center OL Dominick Mathis picked up his first offer this weekend from Ball State. The offer came just days after the 6-4 290 prospect paid a visit to the school.

”It feels great to finally get an offer and I can’t wait to get some more,” Mathis said. “Coach (Joey) Lynch called me while I was at home. He told me that Coach (Pete) Lembo told him to offer me this weekend. I went to Ball State earlier this week on a visit.”

Mathis, who says he has yet to be contacted by other college or set up any visits, came away very impressed from his first trip to Muncie.

”I really enjoyed the visit there,” Mathis said. “I got to go around the campus and got to see where the classes are and where the players sleep. I got to talk to the coaching staff and some of the players that graduated from Warren Central (that are on the Cardinals’ roster) and got to meet some of the linemen there. The person who impressed me the most was (John) Strollo the offense if line coach. He a smart man and he knows what he is doing. Every time you talk to him you'll learn something new and he is a pretty funny guy.”
