Matthew, a 6-5 230 DE, has the early head lead on his brother with 4 offers already in hand, including one from FBS level school Ball State.
“It felt great,” Matthew said about receiving word he had received the offer from Ball State. “I was a little stunned at first, but I called Coach Patrick Dougherty and we talked a couple minutes and then told me I have an offer from Ball State.”
The Cardinals join Elon, Chattanooga and Tusculum College as the offers Matthew has already.
“Really not sure,” Matthew said when asked if he had an early leader. “My brother and I just need to meet the staffs and get to see what the programs are all about.”
Mitchell, a 6-2 224 LB who also plays effectively at QB, holds offers from Tusculum and Chattanooga and like Matthew, is hearing from Ball State.
“We plan on visiting, just not sure when,” Matthew said when asked about Ball State. “It's an FBS school which has a great coaching staff and many academic opportunities.”
As for other suitors, the twins have already paid visits to several high profile colleges and are hearing from many more.
“We have visited Purdue, Wake Forest, Georgia Tech, Vanderbilt, Elon and Furman,” Matthew said. “We are hearing from several more including Eastern Michigan, Toledo, Charlotte, Middle Tennessee, Cornell, Princeton, Brown, Penn, and Navy.”
With so many teams hot on their trail, it is no wonder the twins are still hoping to get to play for several more years together.
“Yes, we would love to play together,” Matthew said. “It is a dream we both share.”
