Detroit Receiver Enjoys Ball State

Ball State was visited by a slot receiver from one of Detroit’s top football programs.

Detroit Cass Tech produces a lot of talent year in and year out, and this year is no exception. One of the top playmakers on the team, slot receiver Dwight Blakey, paid Ball State a visit this weekend.

”The visit was awesome, I really got a feel for the campus and student life,” Blakey said. “I got a good look at the weight room and the locker room.”

The diminutive WR (5-8 170) was able to connect to the Cardinals new WR Coach Alex Bailey and also met with Head Coach Pete Lembo.

”We talked a lot about family life, this upcoming summer in terms of camps,” Blakey said. “And how I would play in their system.”

Blakey currently holds only one offer, from Ball State, but is still making the rounds on visits and is in contact with schools like Bowling Green, Illinois, Western Michigan, Eastern Michigan, Buffalo and Purdue.

”I do not have any favorites right now,” Blakey said. “I’m still evaluating every school that’s talking to me.”
