Mathis Talks Ball State Commitment

The second verbal commitment of the Class of 2016 for Ball State is an Indiana Offensive Lineman.

Dominick Mathis said it was the fact that Ball State felt like home that led the 6-4 290 OL from Indianapolis powerhouse Warren Central to commit this past weekend.

“One of the things that made me choose Ball State is that it felt like home,” Mathis said. “I had a great time visiting there. They are also getting better and better and have a bright future and I wanted to be a part of that.”

Mathis has been able to cultivate a solid relationship with the Ball State coaching staff thanks to camping with the Cardinals in years past and also visiting.

”They have a great coaching staff,” Mathis said. “I like all of the coaches I met. I went to a camp last summer and plan on going to a camp again this summer.”

Ball State ended up being Mathis’s only offer, but the versatile OL had interest from Purdue, Ohio, Indiana and Miami.

”I can play any position on the offensive line,” Mathis said. “I know all the plays from any position.”
