Ball State adds Instate RB

Ball State added a multi-dimensional and big RB from the Indianapolis area this weekend.

Brandon Martin was under the radar and under recruited up until he made a splash at the Ball State camp last week. Just a few days after earning that initial offer from the Cardinals, Martin opted to commit to the Cardinals.

” Ball State just felt right,” Martin said. “It feels like home, and the coaching staff is full of authentic people who love what they do. They also believe in me and my abilities so I feel I can be successful there while reaching my full potential.”

Martin, a 6-0 230 RB from Indianapolis Lawrence North, was under recruited – getting looks from Indiana, Purdue, Western Michigan, Miami, Ohio & Youngstown State, but not earning an offer from any of those schools.

Martin believes that his size makes coaches think he was just a power back, something he wants to make sure to disprove when he gets to Ball State.

” I'm a more diverse back than what people may think by watching game film and seeing that I'm 6' 230,” Martin said. “I use my size well by getting physical, but I'm also skilled in catching and making guys miss. I'm strong in the open field and I believe my blocking sets me apart as well. I see myself as an all-around type of back that can do a lot.”
