Speedy Slot Picks Ball State

One of the most underrated receivers in the state of Michigan selected Ball State.

Sometimes in recruiting, all it takes is for someone to believe in you. It was this belief that led Jackson (MI) Lumen Christi slot receiver Wyatt Plate to commit to Ball State, less than a week after picking up an offer.

” They were the first place that believed in me and didn't just look at how many stars or offers I had,” Plate said. “They recognized a hard worker and devoted football player that has high potential.”

The speedy and overlooked, 5-10 170 receiver fits perfectly into the Ball State offense. Another large factor in his selection of the Cardinals.

”Coach (Alex) Bailey and Coach (Joey) Lynch think I can be a huge threat as a slot and on special teams,” Plate said. “They said they love to have fast slots to go up against match ups with linebackers. They consider me a steal.”

Plate, who boasts a 4.39 40 time, had one more message to coaching staffs around the nation.

”Teams are going to be sorry they overlooked me.”
