Manning Picks Ball State

Ball State picked up another commitment from the state of Illinois this past week.

Donald Manning, a 6-3 233 DE from Plainfield (IL) East High School, verbally committed to Ball State on Tuesday.

” Well when I went on my visit I loved the campus,” Manning said. “And I also like the coaching staff a lot and how they do things.”

Manning was able to be a part of the Ball State Coaching Staff’s “Super Saturday” recruiting event, which helped tipped the scales in the Cardinals’ favor.

” Yea I was (at Super Saturday) and it was fun,” Manning said. “They showed us the campus, which was nice and they showed us the football facilities and we watched film which I enjoyed.”

Manning, who chose Ball State over offers from Eastern Michigan, Wyoming, North Dakota State, Southern Illinois and South Dakota, thinks he is perfect for the Cardinals’ defense.

”I think they have a fast aggressive defense,” Manning said. “And I think that I am a fast aggressive player.”
