Former Kicker turner WR turning heads

Under the radar WR from Ohio checks out Ball State Spring Practice

A position change has started to spark major interest in Centerburg (OH) WR Sterling Armstrong.

A season after being named All-Ohio as a Kicker, Armstrong started making plays and turning heads as a WR. Since hauling in impressive numbers as a junior, Armstrong has seen his recruiting pick up, including a visit to Ball State for Spring Practice this week.

"The visit was awesome," Armstrong said. "The staff was great and the facilities were really nice and I was very impressed. The coaching staff is nice and (WR) Coach (Alex) Bailey and I have been messaging on Twitter for a little while so it was nice to finally meet him."

The 6-3 180 Armstrong hasn't picked up his first offer yet, but is hearing from Southern Illinois, Jackson state, Villanova, and Navy. Armstrong was also invited to Oklahoma State for summer camp and to attend the Spring Game at Colorado.

"Big and fast and physical," Armstrong said when asked to describe his game. "I'm a really hard worker. I like to block and I've got good hands I've been told. Last year was only my first year at WR so I think I've got a bunch of upside."

Stay tuned to see as his recruiting takes off.
