Analysis: On the limited film there is of Marsh (who missed a chunk of his Junior Season to Mono), one can tell that he will probably transition inside to a DT spot after a year of adding weight in the Ball State program. Marsh has a great frame and appears almost skinny at 250, so adding the additional 20-30 pounds required to be effective in the trenches will be easy and will not cause him to lose athleticism. Marsh is currently a solid athlete and excels at overpowering prep OTs and also setting the edge against the run. Marsh is not equipped with the natural twitch it takes to be an outside pass rusher, so moving inside is a must. When he transitions to a 3-technique DT, Marsh will be able to use his length and rangy athleticism to get into the backfield and create havoc. Marsh shows a high motor and this will serve him well at the next level.
Outlook: Marsh should be able to excel after a moving inside with the addition of the necessary weight and strength. Marsh is not overly athletic for a DE spot, but is certainly an athletic DT. His motor and work ethic will pay dividends in the long run. We look at Marsh becoming a solid DT that will be a load to keep out of the backfield as he grows and matures.
