Carmel (IN) DB Jacob Abrams is a target for Ball State. He talks about his Ball State offer and more.
When asked about Ball State he had plenty to say.
“I visited Ball State for Junior Day, but I am very interested in getting on campus again this summer.” Abrams said. “I had the chance to talk to Coach (Chevis) Jackson and a couple of other coaches, I definitely want to get out to a game or two this upcoming season"
When I asked about the staff here is what Abrams had to say.
“When I visited for Junior Day, I left with a sense of family," Abrams said. "All of the coaches I interacted with were very personable, and seemed genuinely interested in me as a player.”
I also had the chance to talk to Jacob’s High School Head Coach John Hebert, who had plenty to say about his DB.
“Jacob has only been a football player for 10 months and it is remarkable how advanced he is," Herbert said. "He is our strongest and fastest player, his weight room numbers are outstanding. Some of the numbers include: parallel squats 500 lbs, runs a 4.5, has a 10’3 broad jump, and power cleans 285.”
“We play Jacob mostly at Corner, but most colleges see him at Safety," Herbert said. "I could see him at WILL linebacker at the next level.”
Hebert also had a lot of praise about Jacob’s character.
“He is a young man with outstanding character and has a 'team first' attitude." Herbert said. "His SAT scores are very high and he is a top student at CHS.” Hebert added that he wouldn’t be surprised if Jacob is playing on Sunday’s in five years.
Abrams holds offers from: Ball State, Columbia, and Cornell. He has been in conversations with Yale and Bowling Green, both who have expressed significant interest.
Don’t expect a decision soon, as he says it is still very early in the process, and hopes to know more information in the coming months.
